London
a tiny portion of St james park
when i got word that i booked the mcqueen lookbook and such in london, i was ecstatic. london is somewhere i've always wanted to go - the cultural diversity, rich history, scenic parks and breathtaking architecture - well i don't really care about that.. the opium scene here is BOMB BRO
just playin. on the real though
my arrival in london was typical of any over european expatriations i've embarked upon. i stumble into the city in a hungry, sleep deprived stupor while trying to cope with totally unfamiliar traffic and social laws on the way to my place to stay. thanks to the lack of a language barrier and a nice taxi dude named paul, i was there from airport to paddington station and to my place within 20 minutes.
i had breakfast with my booker (who is way personable and hospitable), dropped off my gear, and set off to amble around the city, eyes glazed over, ready to explore.
a few things:
the entire place (especially hyde and st james parks) smells flowery compared to the grit of manhattan and the outlying boroughs. people are uncharacteristically nice. i pretty much cut off a girl jogging while being a typical tourist (map accordioned all the way out, not watching where i was going). she said "sorry!" as she passed. unheard of. obviously it was in that sexy little british accent.. i was down to shag. i digress
going to sleep at 3pm and waking up at midnight was an unposh decision in retrospect. jetlag bro. woah.
today i shot the lookbook.. shots turned out great, crew was great, although the shoot was long (11 hours, 22 looks) i still had a good time. catering was sick
i went back to the apartment, grabbed my laptop, and have been sitting at a mcdonalds on oxford in the upstairs room tying up some loose ends on the wireless. two booths next to me two SHIFTY blokes are necking. what a scene
more to come whenever
